Our Story

A Decade of Sourcing from the Source

Gemstones for Sale was built in Jaipur - not in a showroom, but on the ground, at cutting centres, in direct conversation with miners and lapidaries. We started because we saw a gap: buyers worldwide were paying premium prices for stones with vague origins, undisclosed treatments, and no paper trail.

We set out to do it differently. Every stone we carry is sourced through relationships we have built over more than ten years - with miners in Sri Lanka, cutters in Jaipur, and origin laboratories in Switzerland and the United States. We don't aggregate from the open market. We don't guess at treatments. We don't sell what we can't stand behind.

Today we supply jewellery manufacturers, independent designers, and fine retailers across four continents. Our exclusive collection represents the rarest material we encounter - stones exceptional enough to photograph individually, certify independently, and offer with full provenance.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

For wholesale buyers, designers, and first-time trade customers.

What does the price range per carat mean?

The price range shown is an indicative per-carat guide based on current market rates for that stone variety, origin, and treatment status. The final price for any specific stone depends on its exact weight, colour saturation, clarity, cut quality, and certification. Submit an inquiry for a confirmed quote on any individual stone.

Are all stones certified by a third-party laboratory?

We disclose every enhancement - or the absence of one - on every stone we sell. This includes heat treatment, beryllium diffusion, fracture filling, coating, and irradiation. Treatment status is confirmed by third-party laboratory analysis, not self-reported. Stones labelled "None" are confirmed unenhanced by the issuing lab.

Do you supply in bulk or only single stones?

Both. The Exclusive Collection features individual high-value stones. For matched parcels, calibrated melee, or bulk supply across standard varieties, we maintain a large inventory through our Jaipur operations. Contact us with your specifications - weight range, colour, treatment preference, and quantity - and we will source or propose from stock.

What is your shipping and insurance policy?

We ship worldwide via insured courier (FedEx International Priority or equivalent) with full declared value insurance. Shipments are professionally packed with tamper-evident seals. Import duties and taxes at the destination are the buyer's responsibility. We provide all necessary documentation for customs clearance including invoices, certificates, and country-of-origin declarations.

Can I request a custom sourcing or specific stone?

Yes. Custom sourcing is a core part of what we do. If you are looking for a specific variety, origin, weight range, or treatment status not currently listed, contact us with your requirements. We source directly from cutting centres and mining operations in Jaipur and have established relationships across major gem-producing countries including Sri Lanka, Burma, Mozambique, Colombia, and Brazil.

Do you offer returns or disputes on quality?

All stones are sold as described, with certification confirming the key quality factors. If a stone arrives materially different from its listed description or certificate, we will work to resolve the issue. We recommend buyers review certificate details and request additional photography or video before confirming purchase for high-value stones.
