The two Greek terms from which the meaning of the Chrysocolla origin is "kolla" and "chrysos". Moreover, these two Greek terms signify "glue and gold". This refers to the mineral's historical use as a soldering agent for gold jewelry, thereby implying "glue of gold." Known as a hydrated copper silicate, chrysocolla gemstone is made of silicon, water, and copper. Usually found in the oxidation zones of copper deposits, it is either spherical lumps, crusts, or vein fills.

The appeal of chrysocolla went beyond mere practicality. According to archeological finds, various civilizations all around valued Chrysocolla for its beauty.
The Incas in Peru utilized it to produce magnificent jewelry and decorations, while the Egyptians employed it in religious events. A similar love was enjoyed by Amethyst gemstones.

For ages, chrysocolla has been used in beautiful objects and jewelry. Thanks to advances in mining and treatment methods, modern jewelry-making prefers the more challenging forms of chrysocolla.
Artists are still urged to produce beautiful works that capture the core of Chrysocolla's rich legacy by means of their unique colors and particular techniques.
Often compared to the calm ocean depths or a peaceful perspective of Earth from space, the most sought-after variant boasts a stunning blue-green color.
